The Taihu Sales Center is not just a sales center, but an exhibition hall that showcases the beauty of modern architecture. The designers have artistically translated the natural character of a rose into the core of the spatial design. The spatial layout of the first floor resembles a blooming rose, with the model display area, negotiation area, and water bar arranged organically around a loop-shaped circulation. This layout ensures that the functional areas do not interfere with each other, creating a flexible and efficient spatial organization.
The design team, led by Chief Designer Fabrizio De Leva, has creatively used paper, an environmentally friendly and low-cost decorative material, to cover the space with rhythmic paper ceilings. This innovative use of paper injects an airy lightness into the exhibition scene, enhancing the overall aesthetic appeal of the space.
The project, which started and finished in 2019 in Beijing, is a perfect example of how humanity and technology can be integrated to create a luxurious and artistic ambiance. The designers have strengthened the architectural advantages of the original building, linking the downstairs and upstairs to create an art pavilion-like space that encourages dialogue between humans and nature.
Despite the limited space, the design team has managed to create a large-scale feeling in the Taihu Sales Center. They have achieved this by using sensitive languages, exquisite details, and visual relationships, meeting the demands of comfort, safety, durability, and economical efficiency with a reasonable layout and elegant environment.
The Taihu Sales Center is more than just a commercial space; it is a testament to the power of design to transform everyday spaces into works of art. The project has been awarded the Golden A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award in 2021, a testament to the designers' prodigy and wisdom. This award is granted to marvelous, outstanding, and trendsetting creations that advance art, science, design, and technology, embodying extraordinary excellence and significantly impacting the world with their desirable characteristics.
